Rose Namajunas is thankful to be back in the win column.
After losing her strawweight title to Carla Esparza back in 2022, Namajuna moved up to flyweight and immediately lost Manon Fiorot.
On Saturday night, Namajunas finally got back in the win column and was grateful for her win.
“Yeah, the rough couple years of my life have been pretty rough, I never let it get me down too far but I’ve definitely had a lot of hurt in my recent past, but God gives me the strength and I just keep going.”
Namajunas is used to fighting for the title but she’s hoping to work her way up this time.
“I lost to Manon Fiorot and she’s fighting Erin Blanchfield and thought she was calling for a title shot, I just know how things work, and I know you gotta earn things but had things gone different in a way maybe I would have been in that title shot, it just is what it is, it was kind of weird not being ranked, so can I just get ranked now, but it’s kind of cool of instead of being the champ and jumping straight into a superfight, I think it is kind of cool to work your way up.”
