Paulo Costa has an idea for his next opponent at middleweight.
Last week, Costa lost to Robert Whittaker via decision and is now looking for a new opponent.
While speaking with Submission Radio, Costa recommended former welterweight champion Kamaru Usman as a potential opponent.
“He came from a loss as well, I came from a loss. Me and him need to put a win in our record.
“He already did everything he should have done at welterweight. I think it’s time, he’s not so young as well.”
Paulo Costa says a fight between him and Kamaru Usman “makes sense” to be next:

Costa reiterated his stance on social media.
“Usman 185 lbs looks interesting.
Gourmet Chen Chen couldn’t finish him even short notice . I might”
Nassourdine Imavov is another middleweight who has his eyes set on Usman.
Usman is recently coming off a unanimous decision against Khamzat Chimaev in his middleweight debut.
It’s unclear what Usman decides to do but he definitely has plenty of suitors whenever he decides to fight.
