Bellator featherweight champion Patricio Pitbull is not holding out hope for a Bellator Brazil show.
After the PFL purchased Bellator, the company said they would keep the organization alive but will feature several shows in Europe.
While speaking to the media ahead of Bellator Belfast, Pitbull said that he doesn’t think that a Bellator show in Brazil is every going to happen.
“To be sincere, I’ve kind of given up on that dream. I’ve been told by three different owners that they were going to bring it to Brazil,” Pitbull told the media on Wednesday
“First Bjorn Rebney, then Scott Coker, and now Donn Davis. And it still hasn’t happened. I’m 36 years old, I’ve been waiting for it to go to Brazil for 14 years. Me and my brother were champions. Many champions come from Brazil, but I don’t see it happening, since it hasn’t happened yet. So I’m just going to keep doing my job and continue moving forward.”
While Bellator will likely not end up in Brazil, the UFC will be there in a few months for UFC 301.
Despite this Pitbull doesn’t have any ambitions to crossover to Bellator’s rival organization “I am Bellator”, he would later say.
