Jamahal Hill is quickly jumping back into Octagon just a few months after getting brutally knocked out.
At UFC 300, UFC lightheavy weight champion Alex Pereira made quick work of Hill and knocked him out in the first round of their fight.
A week after his loss, Hill took a fight against top contender Khalil Rountree at UFC 300.
According to Hill, the reason he took the fight was to get ahead of other contenders like Magomed Ankalaev in an attemp to rematch Pereira.
“That’s part of the reason I wanted to come back so soon, I didn’t want Magomed to get a hold of [Alex] first.
Magomed’s stance is a problem for Pereira. Pereira doesn’t fight well against southpaws… Magomed’s a southpaw.
Magomed also can come with a very grapple heavy approach, as well he picks decent shots and he is capable on the feet. I’d probably favour Magomed.”
Hill also took the fight because he’ll be on a high profile card featuring Conor McGregor.
“[Conor] is THE star in the game… I was offered a main-event to fight Khalil…
I was like nah, the Conor card is right there, it’s good enough and I definitely want that. So I turned down a main-event to get on this.”
