UFC welterweight Jack Della Maddalena wants to headline a fight against one of the toughest fighters in his division.
Maddalena is currently set to fight Gilbert Burns at UFC 299 in Miami but he already his eyes set at another opponent.
While speaking to Submission Radio, Maddalena says that he wants to fight against Shavkat Rakhmonov and headline the annual UFC Perth event in Australia.
“My dream matchup is to fight Shavkat Rakhmonov in Perth, 5 rounder for the title eliminator.
“I think he’s the toughest fighter in the division, that’s where the big challenge lies.”
Jack Della Maddalena wants Shavkat Rakhmonov in a 5 rounder next if he defeats Gilbert Burns.

Rakhomonov on the other hand has his eyes set the UFC welterweight title after defeating Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson.

“I cannot predict the future, but I have to do whatever it takes to get the win,” Rakhmonov said. “[Beating Thompson will show] I’m ready to win the UFC welterweight belt.
“I finished all my fights and I’ll finish this one and that will mean that I’m ready for the title shot next.”
There has been no word on Rakhmonov’s return but he’ll have to wait until for the welterweight division to clear up before he gets a shot at the title.
