Charles Oliveira is confident that he’s on the road to the title.
On April 13th, the former UFC lightweight champion will be fighting rising star Arman Tsarukyan at UFC 300.
Despite the fact that Oliveira was set to fight for the title before getting an eye injury a week before his fight against Islam Makhachev, the Brazilian spoke about why he’s fighting Tsarukyan instead of waiting around for another title shot.
“I’m employed by Zuffa so I need to accept what they bring to me.
If I was to wait for the title I would [have] fought only in the end of the year, and I don’t like to wait too much to fight. I would be like waiting for one year almost.”

Oliveira also believes that he will get the next title shot if he beats Tsarukyan at UFC 300.
“Everyone knows that I’m next in line, so I’m gonna be the next one to get the title.”
Charles Oliveira when asked if he’s worried about being passed over for a title shot by the winner of Holloway vs Gaethje at #UFC300:
“Not at all, I don’t even think about that. Everyone knows that I’m next in line, so I’m gonna be the next one to get the title.”
